The Darling Home for Kids is a place of joy, filled with the smiles and laughter of children engaging in unique and enriching experiences. Located in Milton, we are a state-of-the-art facility providing respite, hospice palliative and residential care and since opening our doors in 2004, we have provided over 300,000 hours of service to children across Ontario.
Medically fragile children receive wonderful care in a beautiful, warm and home-like environment, which provides comfort and a break to families facing the daily challenges of caring for a child with complex medical needs. Families are supported knowing that there is a continuum of care from respite through to palliation and, when needed, end of life care.
It is our fundamental philosophy that all children be loved and valued, and given the opportunity to be challenged in an environment where they can thrive.
“The support The Darling Home for Kids provides goes beyond nurses caring for special needs children. They save families”
– Erin Gibson, Piper’s Mom

“When asked to reflect on the impact of our fundraising dollars on our day to day operations, my answer is simple – it is, quite literally, everywhere I look. As the Clinical Manager, I am blessed to see the incredible impact that our programs have on families. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for your support.
You help to bring the world to our kids, and I have the amazing job of watching them light up with smiles, giggles and bright eyes as they experience this place of joy. I wish that I could capture what I see every day and share it with you, because then you would know that everywhere I look, I see the joy that you have created.”
- Sharleen Sun, Clinical Manager, The Darling Home for Kids
